Ingredients

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix (plus ingredients listed on the box)
  • 12.8 oz hot fudge sauce
  • 3.4 oz chocolate instant pudding mix
  • 1 ¾ cups milk
  • 30 Oreo cookies, crushed
  • 8 oz Cool Whip, thawed

Instructions

  1. Prepare and bake the chocolate cake according to the package directions.
  2. Remove from the oven and let cool for 10 minutes.
  3. Using the handle of a spoon, poke holes evenly across the cake.
  4. Microwave the hot fudge until thin and pourable.
  5. Pour the hot fudge evenly over the cake, allowing it to soak into the holes.
  6. Let the cake cool completely.
  7. In a medium bowl, whisk together the chocolate pudding mix and milk.
  8. Before the pudding fully sets, pour it evenly over the cooled cake.
  9. Refrigerate for about 20 minutes.
  10. In another bowl, whisk the remaining pudding mix with milk.
  11. Refrigerate until fully set, about 10 minutes.
  12. Gently fold in the thawed Cool Whip.
  13. Stir in about ¾ of the crushed Oreos.
  14. Spread evenly over the cake.
  15. Sprinkle the remaining crushed Oreos on top.
  16. Serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to serve.

Notes

  • This cake tastes even better after chilling for a few hours.
  • Make sure the hot fudge is warm enough to soak into the cake properly.
