Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 ½ cups brown sugar
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 medium banana
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • ¼ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine butter, eggs, brown sugar, white sugar, salt, and vanilla. Beat with an electric mixer until smooth.
  3. Stir in the flour and mashed banana until just combined.
  4. Fold in 2 cups of chocolate chips. The batter will be thick — this is normal.
  5. Pour batter into the greased pan and spread evenly. Sprinkle the remaining ¼ cup chocolate chips on top.
  6. Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Let cool completely before cutting into bars. Serve and enjoy!
